Philip Carr-Gomm

PHILIP’s STORY : COMING SOON

Philip Carr-Gomm is a writer and psychologist. He trained with Ross Nichols, the founder of the Order of Bards Ovates & Druids, and has been leading the Order for over thirty years.

Although his spiritual practice is rooted in Druidry, he believes we have entered an era in which we can move beyond labels and follow the Nameless Way – being inspired by the wisdom in all spiritual paths and teachings. He is particularly interested in the connections between Druidry and the Dharmic religions of Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism, and in ways in which we can preserve and protect the natural world for future generations.

Born in London, raised in Notting Hill Gate, and educated at Westminster School and University College London he met his first spiritual teacher, Ross Nichols, the founder of The Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, when he was 11.

In his thirties he took a BSc degree in Psychology at University College London and underwent Jungian analysis, with a view to becoming a psychoanalyst. On discovering Psychosynthesis, he trained instead as a therapist at the Institute of Psychosynthesis in London and began a private practice. He also trained in Montessori education and founded the Lewes Montessori School.

In 1988 he was asked to lead the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, and since then have written a number of books on Druidry and spirituality, including ‘Druid Mysteries’ and ‘Sacred Places’, and co-authored a number of books including ‘The Book of English Magic’ (with Richard Heygate) and ‘The DruidCraft Tarot’ (with Stephanie Carr-Gomm).

Every Monday evening at 8pm UK time Philip talks live on the OBOD Facebook Page for about twenty minutes. You can join him there for a conversation about the questions that matter.
